Après avoir complété son baccalauréat en arts visuels à l’Université Concordia, Thomas Corriveau reçoit une bourse de la Brucebo Fine Art Scholarship Foundation de Gotland (Suède), qui lui donne accès à une résidence d’artiste à Själsö, village situé dans l’île de Gotland, en Suède. Au cours de l’été 1981, il parcourt l’île à vélo et travaille en plein air, à partir du motif. Il produit une centaine de dessins de paysages, au pastel ou à l’aquarelle, ainsi qu’une courte séquence animée, intitulée Välkommen till Själsö (Bienvenue à Själsö).
After completing his Bachelor of Visual Arts at Concordia University, Thomas Corriveau received a scholarship from the Brucebo Fine Art Scholarship Foundation of Gotland, Sweden, which gave him access to an artist residency in Själsö, a village in Gotland, Sweden. In the summer of 1981, he traveled around Gotland by bicycle and worked outdoors. He produced some one hundred pastel or watercolor drawings of landscapes, as well as a short animated sequence entitled Välkommen till Själsö (Welcome to Själsö).
